One of the greatest advantages to being a parent of a couple small children is getting to share in all their amazing Christmas presents. Once they get past the age of rattles and bibs they start to get some pretty cool stuff and I'm enough of a kid at heart to get just as excited about playing Angry Birds on Thin Ice or checking out the latest and greatest in art supplies. More than anything though I adore playing with LEGOs and getting creative with my own creations.

Yes, LEGOs are pretty cool, and I've also long thought the stream of themed LEGO games that have pervaded the last two generations of video games. Things started to get a little stale with them though, but then they bounced back a bit with LEGO Lord of the Rings so we'll see if they can keep it up with the next installment. This time around they are taking on some classic characters with LEGO Marvel Super Heroes.

As expected, LMSH will appear on both the Vita and PS3, featuring an original story about Nick Fury marshaling forces from around the whole Marvel universe to save Earth from omnipotent baddies Loki and Galactus. Expect some zany action and sublime cutscenes and lots and lots of collectibles.

“Fans of both LEGO and Marvel have wanted this game for years, and we’re addressing that demand with more Marvel Universe characters than ever in a console game,” said TQ Jefferson, Vice President, Games Production, Marvel Entertainment. “If you’re a fan of Spider-Man, the Avengers, Fantastic Four, X-Men, Guardians of the Galaxy or scores of other Marvel characters, this is the game for you.”

As a fan of both those things, I can't really confirm that I've wanted this for years, but I AM intrigued by the wide array of characters they have to draw from and I hope they can continue with the renaissance from the last LEGO game. It's still early as the game isn't hitting stores until this Fall, but we'll keep our eye out for more info True Believers! Nuff said!
