Blah blah blob...

Welcome (back) to the Retroverse. I just invented the word "Retroverse"! Those of you that played DrinkBox Studio's original game Tales From Space: About A Blob have no doubt been waiting to see what wacky adventures the blob and his buddies got up to after the spectacular finale of that game. Soon, you'll see for yourself, assuming you are throwing down the ducats for a new PS Vita (and you should) since that is the only platform to see the sequel, Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack.

"We are all very excited about PlayStation®Vita and to be part of the launch," said Ryan MacLean, CEO of DrinkBox Studios. "The system's next generation features have allowed us to really think outside of the box while developing Mutant Blobs Attack - it feels as though the technology has in some areas exceeded that of its console counterpart. We've had a lot of fun creating the game and we're working hard to get it out as soon as possible!"

We hear you Ryan, and we are ready to see what happens in the alternate 50's universe that the blobs took over in. Thankfully, they leaked out a few details of the new gameplay so we'd know what to expect.

- Play as an all-consuming mutant blob as you explore (and devour) your way through more than two dozen interactive levels.

- A wide range of environments: everything from a frat house to a metropolis

- Next generation touch controls (touchscreen and rear touch pad) combined with those of a classic platformer for a fresh take on the platforming genre

- "Tilt-a-Blob" bonus levels featuring gyroscopic controls reward players' performance and add to the replayability

- Growth throughout levels provide players with a constantly changing perspective on the in-game world

- Challenging puzzles mixed into the action and mayhem

- Competitive, collection-based leaderboards, support for special in-game achievements and Trophies

Love the way they are using the various control schemes. The original game played a lot like a sidescrolling Katamari Damacy and you could see how tilt and touch controls would fit the game to a 'T'.

Hopefully when we all have our own Vitas we can blob it up together, or at least on the same leaderboard!
