Ever hear of the popular show, The Office? If you haven't then you probably aren't even privileged to own a television (and living in the early 20's as well). If you do have a TV and still haven't seen it, then shame on you (and here's an excerpt of the show to give you a little taste). As you can see, the show makes fun of all nuances that make up a office environment. Well MumboJumbo is in the process of bringing this fun to... handhelds!?
MumboJumbo, known for games such as Luxor or 7 Wonders, signed a deal with NBC Universal Pictures Digital Group to release The Office for the PSP Console. Now take a step back and think. how the hell you're going to play this. But it is MumboJumbo; they can turn anything into a time sucking addiction (even if someone else did it first and they're just biting the style). We even thought of it being like Office Space and us trying to attempt to kill that copier!
"The cast and creators of The Office have done a fantastic job delivering a show with a personality all its own,", said gleefully by Bill Kispurt, Universal Pictures Digital Platforms Group, Interactive, vice president and general manager. "MumboJumbo is an innovator in the casual games space, and developing a game with them that combines the quirky characters and humor of the show with a proven, addictive game mechanic we think will be welcomed by fans and casual game players alike."
"We are honored that NBC Universal has chosen us to be their partner for this exciting new project," said MumboJumbo's CEO, Mark Cottam. "We look forward to working closely with their team to ensure that the thematic elements of The Office are closely approximated in the development of the video game."
Well let's hope [i]The Office[i] does well for a video game and hope it doesn't punch out for good.
