Heroes Part Deux
Namco Bandai takes another stab at this whole RPG-on-PSP thing.

As names go The Legend of Heroes: A Tear of Vermillion is certainly a mouthful, but it's nothing compared to the 43-character might of The Legend of Heroes: Prophecy of the Moonlight Witch. Now given that the latter is a sequel to the former, it must by definition be somehow better because, well, the name is longer, man. That's how these things work; we don't make up the rules... we just enforce 'em. With pointy sticks. And mean names. Cause it's our job.
Actually none of that is true. Oh, Moonlight Witch is indeed a sequel to Vermillion, but we don't know if it's going to be any better or worse than the original, but one would think with the rapid turn-around time that Namco would include a little bit of fan feedback into things. If nothing else, it has a pet system now, so that's a plus, right? Okay, fine, enough sarcastic comments. You want to know about the game? The one that's out in stores now? The one that we're talking about right no--oh screw it, here:
"The Legend of Heroes II: Prophecy of the Moonlight Witch opens with childhood friends Jurio and Chris as they embark on a pilgrimage to five shrines surrounding their village. During their journey, they learn of a mysterious force that threatens to destroy everything in its path. Can Jurio and Chris, with the help of their friends, unveil the secrecy shrouding Queen Isabella’s castle? Will they discover the identity of the mysterious “Moonlight Witch who predicted it all? Players can join in the adventure with this elegant turn-based role-playing title developed by the legendary Nihon Falcom."
Yeah, that's right, Falcom, the guys that busted out the awesome-tastic [game=]Ys: The Ark of Napishtim[/i]. See, now you're interested. But will you answer the questions put forth in the marketing speak-laden paragraph above you? Will you do it by buying a copy of the game? Will we ever stop asking questions? The world may never know. Oh, but you'll at least tackle the first two questions if you pick up a copy; it's in stores now. And our work here is done. Time for our Noon Brew! Mmmmm... Pabst Blue Ribbon. *Hic!*
