Now normally when a street racer speeds off to retail, we try to beef up the release stories with (feigned) astonishment, like gushing about how ubercool it is to trick out your rides, cruise through moonlight-splashed courses or frantically try to shake the 5-0 off your trail. Who would've thought a not-so-by-the-books racer would come our way and actually make for a halfway interesting news story? Not us!

In Street Supremacy, winners aren't crowed through snapshot finishes, but rather through the use of Spirit Points. No, the undead won't be possessing rival drivers and lead them careening off courses, but rather, building up team loyalty, recruiting fellow drivers and patrolling an unstoppable four-wheeled force through the streets will be key to victory. By playing rough and taking opposing cars out of the race, players can deplete their competition's Spirit Points while building up their own. It's a dog-eat-dog world, after all!

Essentially, two teams are at it to seize 15 separate areas of Tokyo, earned only through individual races between different players. Gaining territory is no easy task, though, as players will have to size themselves up against rivals and choose their races wisely.

And ok, so we lied about this one's lack of conventional features - you'll still find a wealth of name-brand cars, modifications, and heck, even a wireless Vs. mode. They can't all be unique!

Street Supremacy should be claiming retail territory right about... now, but if we were you, we would totally check out that snazzy preview of ours before doing anything else.
