The Prince is Pocketsized
Inevitable death just won't get off the Prince's back, will it?

Now this is what we like to see. Sure to satisfy portable gamers' cravings for some much-needed high profile games, Ubisoft Entertainment has announced that Prince of Persia PSP is currently in the works. From developer Pipeworks, this sized-down version of the Prince (still under a working title, mind you) is a take on last year's Prince of Persia: Warrior Within for the consoles, but as any inventive port would, throws in additional content in the form of puzzles, maps and redesigned levels, just to name a few.
So just as that Old Man keeps predicting (creepy how they do that, eh?), the Prince is going to die, or will at least be hunted by an incarnation of Fate called Dahaka that's looking for divine retribution. Only by journeying to a haunted island and teaching an underworld of monsters tormenting mankind a lesson or two can the Prince spare his own life. Oh, and become a better warrior, but that's probably secondary, wouldn't you say?
Cutting no corners, Prince of Persia PSP will encompass the free-form fighting system from its console counterpart, with the ability to manipulate enemies, the environment, and even employ a wicked new projective attack system. The mysterious powers of the Sands of Time can once again be put to use and should prove quite useful in combat. And as for an estimated length of it all? "Hours upon hours," Ubisoft vows!
Prince of Persia PSP will be slicing into shelves this December, around the same time its latest console version (now under the confirmed name of Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones) hits. Start anticipating... now!
