We're sensing a mild case of déjà vu: in light of today's earlier news, we've received word of yet another movie-based videogame that's in preperation for release on all major portables and platforms... on May 22. The culprit? Why none other than Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, ya slimy swashbuckler!

"Fans of the Pirates of the Caribbean film franchise will experience adventures inspired by the second and third films while going far beyond the events of those films," beams Craig Relyea, vice president of marketing, Disney Interactive Studios. "With the action, excitement, unforgettable characters and expansive locations from the blockbuster films, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End will be the definitive 'Pirates' video game experience for fans. Our games go beyond the films to introduce legendary pirates, new locations and unique endings that will satisfy the pirate in each of us."

Prepare to go beyond the films, presumably picking up where the Dead Man's Chest left off as the crew of Will Turner, Elizabeth Swann and Captain Barbossa attempt retrieve Captain Jack Sparrow from the horror of The Flying Dutchmen and the trap of Davy Jones' locker. Disney assures the At World's End's will take advantage of their respective platforms, with the next-generation version offering "innovative dueling controls as well as special moves used to outwit and defeat enemies." Wiimote adaptation has been confirmed, and we're sure SixAxis use ain't too far of either.

We're not entirely sure what's at the world's end, but we can tell you it'll be "T" rated, developed by Eurocom and revealed to game retailers on the fateful date of May 22nd, three days before the movie's release! Stay tuned for details, won't you?
