Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 Portable, an RPG known for it's unique take on gameplay, is now available in stores and for download from the PlayStation Network. PSP owners searching for a compelling role-playing game need not look further. If you're unfamiliar with how Persona 3 works, here's a crash course:

During the game's day cycle, Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 Portable is somewhat similar to life and relationship simulators such as The Sims or Second Life. It's possible to form relationships, attend school, and perform other everyday tasks. Come nightfall, however, you'll find yourself battling the encroaching creatures of darkness. Throw in the fact that Persona 3 has great visuals, interesting characters, and tons of replay value, and you've got yourself one helluva game.

Several features have been added to the handheld iteration. Among these is the opportunity to choose a female protagonist. Players already familiar with the Persona 3 storyline will find the new dialogue and character interactions refreshing. Also, the game has been upgraded with five separate difficulty settings, the ability to control teammates in battle, shorter load times, menu shortcuts, and other tweaks that ensure Persona 3 feels great on the PlayStation Portable.

If this sounds like your kind of bag, pick up Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 Portable in stores or from the PSN for $39.99.
