Atlus sends word that everyone's favorite lovable antisocial communist carpenter Gen-san will be arriving on US PSPs soon in Hammerin' Hero. Hammerin' Hero is an old-fashioned side-scrolling brawler, wherein the violent protagonist beats the tar out of hordes of enemies. In this case, the enemies are the employees of a greedy construction company, and Gen is tasked with pummeling the corporate greed right out of their asses.

Gen fights through twelve "crazy" stages, and he employs more than just hammers in pursuing his anti-capitalist agenda. Other attacks are tied to optional costumes, such as a baseball player outfit that comes with a baseball bat, or a diving getup for the underwater stage that sees him clocking shark-riding henchmen with an anchor.

The game features cute cell-shaded 3D graphics, a choice between English and Japanese voices and ad-hoc two player shenanigans. The gameplay appears to be a throwback to some of the more repetitive tendencies of yesteryear's beat-em-ups, which is not surprising considering that the previous game debuted in 1990, but sometimes smacking the crap out of a ton of mooks can be therapeutic.
