Sony Preps Gamma Pack 2
Two new tracks and two new skins will be yours in... (wait for it...) two more days.

One of the coolest things about the PSP hardware is the way Sony is pushing for downloadable content long after a game has shipped. At the forefront (and, well, the only example so far) of this practice is Studio Liverpool's additional work on what's probably the best PSP game so far: WipEout Pure.
While updates were slow in coming, and the first downloadable content, the admittedly meager Gamma Pack 1 offered a single track (Staten Park), new ship (Tigron) and new skin (Piranha). It made for a couple spins around a fresh track and a nice, red look to the menus, but if you'd already finished the Zone mode, the new ship wasn't a huge bonus.
Luckily, we haven't had to wait long for the next update, and this one's a little meatier in terms of available races and new skins (sorry, no new music yet). Gamma Pack 2 will introduce Extostra Run and Ubermall tracks to help bulk up the Gamma circuit and offer two new skins for race corporations Qirex and Auricom.
A note from our peeps at Sony, though, it appears that you'll want to re-download the first Gamma Pack once you've picked up the second one "for consistency" -- we're not really sure what that means, but it looks like the old file will be overwritten anyway, so actually going through and manually deleting the old content isn't required.
