Straight out of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Glitztown, USA (er, better known as Las Vegas), Sony Online Entertainment as announced its current project for the PSP: an action role-playing game by the name of Untold Legends: Brotherhood of the Blade. SOE is proud to be one of the few North American teams working on a title for Sony's handheld, as Untold Legends is expected to be only multiplayer action RPG available at launch, which is still said to be March of this year.

“We have assembled a top-notch development team that has worked hard to develop a completely original title for the PSP handheld system,” commented John Smedley, president, Sony Online Entertainment. “The dev team has tailored every feature such as the wireless multiplayer gameplay, stunning 3D graphics, and the entertaining Action RPG gameplay specifically for the PSP handheld system, and the results are absolutely spectacular. We strongly believe that Untold Legends: Brotherhood of the Blade has what it takes to be a huge success on the PSP handheld system.”

In a world falling under the powers of Evil, one timeless city, Aven, remains as the latest Stronghold for Good. When unknown forces seek to convert the city to the dark side, though, it's up to a group of heroes known as the Brotherhood of the Blade to stand up against the looming threat and fight in the name of Good.

As a hero in the Brotherhood, players are able to choose from the Knight, Alchemist, Druid and Berserker classes, all which have unique fighting skills and magical capabilities. Battles are played in real-time hack 'n slash style, with 150+ monsters (randomly generated, of course, as are the game's environments) to be slain and enormous monsters that require a bit of strategy to take down. Untold Legends is chockfull of over 100 varied levels, all rendered in stunning 3D graphics and lighting (as we all known the PSP can pull off with a breeze), hundreds of items, gear and artifacts to employ along the journey, involving character customization, and even wireless multiplayer to get fellow PSP owners in on the action.

Untold Legends: Brotherhood of the Blade is expected to hack up shelves in March, to be found right alongside the PSP unit itself as a launch title. Be sure to get yer updates on the game from both us and the official site.
