DualPlay it Again, Sam

Aaaahhhhhahahahaha, that was funny like the first 20 times I heard it.

Now going on its third year, Sony and the House of Blues' DualPlay shows have been successful to say the least. The show has classically been a heavily electronica-driven experience, with Ferry Corsten, Timo Maas, DJ Rap and Loco Dice appearing the first year, and Tiesto, Noel Sanger and Bad Boy Bill headlined 2003's show.

This year, things are taking a bit more of an alternative slant as DJ Z-Trip (and special guest!!!) and lcd soundsystem will be providing the tunes for their respective legs of the tour. Z-Trip's show starts in Boston on 9/8 and finishes here in San Francisco on 10/1, while lcd soundsystem begins shortly after, snaking from Portland on 10/11 to Atlantic City for a final show on 11/21.

"Music is increasingly at the center of today's videogame experience," beamed Sharon Shapiro, SCEA's senior director of promotions and sports product marketing. "This year we added dates to the tour and expanded the array of musical talent to include individual DJs and bands making this the most entertaining PlayStation DualPlay tour to date."

Make no mistake, though, as much of a music experience as this is, Sony's still in the business of selling games, and they'll be offering glimpses of a couple upcoming (yes, that means "unreleased") first- and second-party titles, including Jak X: Combat Racing, NBA '06, The Con, SOCOM 3, EyeToy: Play 2, Shadow of the Colossus and MediEvil: Resurrection. (Psst, click on the game titles for previews and info of each!)

"I've always been into music and videogames," offered Z-Trip as a closing comment. "So teaming up with PlayStation DualPlay made perfect sense."

And there you have it. As always, tickets and info can be found at the official DualPlay web site, but to save a little time (and pad this news story with more info), we'll drop the full schedule for both artists on you. Why? That's right, because we care.
