The Heavy Hitters of Rock

Jane’s Addiction, Motorhead, Stone Temple Pilots… would you expect anything less on The BIGS soundtrack?

If there’s one thing you can expect from sports games nowadays – besides the whole well-rounded, authentic experience – it’s come to be a senselessly good cast of tunes set to the backdrop of it all. 2K Sports dug into the ol’ alternative rock gold mine with MLB 2K7, and now with The BIGS on the horizon, an inherently beefed up, more over-the-top take on the American pastime, the team has added the respective amplitude to the game’s aural offerings as well. The answer? An all-star cast of guitar-driven rock tunes from of its biggest names.

"In The BIGS, everything is to the extreme, from the colossal baseball players to the surreal stadiums, so we wanted a soundtrack that would capture the magnified nature of the game," chimes in Tim Rosa, 2K Sports' Director of Brand and Lifestyle Marketing.

Bands like Jane’s Addiction, White Zombie and The Stooges will set the stage as players dig into the game’s larger-than-life on-field action, superhuman power-ups and spectacular special effects are nothing short of commonplace.

Here are the hard-rocking tracks you’ll soon come to know (assuming you don’t already):

Stone Temple Pilots – “Plush”
Screaming Trees – “Nearly Lost You”
Jane’s Addiction – “Ocean Size”
Killing Joke – “Millennium”
White Zombie – “More Human than Human”
Fu Manchu – “Hung Out to Dry”
Motorhead – “Ace of Spades”
The Stooges – “Down On the Street”
Primus – “Jerry Was a Race Car Driver”
Blue October – “Somebody”
Satellite Party – “Insanity Rains”
Highbench – “Satisfied”

The BIGS brings its primetime game to all three Sony consoles this summer. We’ll be sure to shuffle those updates your way once we get ‘em.
