[Shipping Out] October 9th

Oh, hey, now this is a decent update. Filled with pew-pew!

Welcome to Shipping Out, our weekly notice of all them thar games that ship from publishers to retailers in preparation for their street date a day later. In many cases, these games won't be on store shelves until tomorrow, but in the interest of getting the word out, letting the PR departments have their fancy quotes and saving us sanity as the weekly releases pile up, we're going to be consolidating everything down into one handy little news story at the end of the day, along with this description. Neat, eh? And lazy!

[PlayStation 2]

[[game= 1749]MLB Power Pros[/game]]
2K Sports' exclusive acquisition of the MLB license has left other publishers in a tough spot. First-party companies like Sony can still make MLB games (which is why we get The Show every year), but for developers like Konami and their cute little Power Pros franchise, they're SOL. Or are they? By partnering up with 2K on publishing, US gamers will finally get a taste for the dating/training/baseball sim-lite for themselves. It's way better than it sounds, trust us (or trust our review, which is coming soon).

[PlayStation Portable]

[Spider-Man: Friend or Foe]
Okay, so we were stupid and accidentally said Spidey's little beat-em-up adventure with enemies and allies alike was shipping last week. Nooope, it's shipping this week. Sorry for the confusion, kids! But hey, now you can have access to that exclusive Conquest Mode that lets you earn more Hero Points for upgrades, yaaaay!

[Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron]
The PSP-exclusive sequel to LucasArts' best-selling Star Wars franchise is finally here. Developed by the swell folks at Rebellion, the game retains all the awesome capture and hold gameplay that we geeked out about a few weeks ago, but if you want to nerd out properly, there's always...

[Star Wars Battlefront PSP Entertainment Pack]
First announced at E3 this year, the Star Wars-branded white slim PSP is decked out with a boss little picture of Vader on the back and is the only way you can get the Ceramic White version of the new thinner, lighter, badder-asser version of the PSP. Unlike the Daxter pack that comes with the game of the same name, a 1GB Memory Stick Pro DUO and the Family Guy Freakin' Sweet Collection UMD, all you'll get with the Vader-certified version is the system and the game, all for $200.

[PlayStation 3]

[SEGA Rally Revo]
Woo hoo, finally! Developed by SEGA's own internal Racing Studio, the re-imagined arcade hit has finally arrived, bringing with it deformable terrain that gives MotorStorm a run for its money with all the speed and powerslide-heavy gameplay that made the original arcade (and, if we do say so ourselves, the Saturn port) so friggin' awesome. Vroom vroom!

And there you have it. This list is barren to be sure, but it's by no means an indication of what's actually shipping, just what we've gotten the official word on.

Publishers: Want to make sure we've got your games in our weekly Shipping Out blurbs? Just kick over those shipping press releases to ShippingOut@TotalPlayStation.com and we'll make sure they get tossed into the rotation.
