Because Just Driving Cars is for Losers

Everyone knows jumping from car to car at ridiculous speeds is where it’s at.

Developer BigBig Studios knows what makes an action movie great. Sure, there’s the rookie cop who plays by his own rules, the crime syndicates all bent on dominating a generically-named city, and lots and lots of car chases. Car chases with guns. Car chases with dudes hopping from car to car at 150 miles an hour because that’s just what they do. Who cares about stuff like a plot or identifiable characters, we just need stuff that goes fast and blows up real good. It’s the American way!

This is the basis for Pursuit Force, where hot lead is all the negotiation you need, clichés are a dime a dozen and similes fall like little trite raindrops all around you. It’s not all about driving and shooting. There’s also running and shooting and jumping into a chopper and shooting. Shooting a chaingun, which as most know is the fastest way to ventilate a car and the sweaty inhabitants inside in one easy step. Helpful!

"Pursuit Force is an original IP exclusive for the PSP system that introduces a number of innovative features sure to make it one of next year's most wanted titles," claimly explains Susan Nourai, director of online and product marketing at Sony Computer Entertainment America. "With superb production value, a huge variety in missions, and the groundbreaking gameplay mechanic of leaping between moving vehicles, Pursuit Force delivers intense action that adds depth to the ever expanding lineup of PSP software."

Remember, kids, if you want to drive buses, SUVs, high-powered cars, bikes and speedboats like an action star, you’ll need a PSP. This is an exclusive, a word mentioned no less than three times in the press release in between bits of info like the game’s 30 missions, 50+ vehicles and 10+ weapons. Then there’s the description of the gangs, which was just too awesome to try to reword (too awesome because we’re lazy):

“The Killer 66 bring their brutal brand of Far-Eastern violence to the streets, while the Capellis are steeped in the Mafia underworld. The Convicts, fresh from a prison break, disregard law and life as they attempt to gain freedom at any cost. The Warlords wreak havoc on the city in their quest for power and to push their political agendas. The Vixens, a group of ex-Hollywood stunt girls, have chosen a life of crime to pay for their lavish lifestyles.”

Seriously, how can you not love a game that has bad guys like that? You can’t, and that’s a damn fact. Don’t believe us? Fine, just take a look at the of the game in action, and then tell us. No, wait, don’t, it’ll just make us cry.
