Ahh, pinball. You know, Abe Lincoln had a very serious pinball obsession back in the day, and it was bad enough to keep him from his duties on multiple occasions. It wasn’t until the late 70’s and early 80’s that the art of making a really good pinball table took off, though. It was a purer time, where everything was still relatively mechanical; no fancy hyper-interactive screens, no crazy mini-games, just a few thoughtfully placed lights and lots and lots of balls flying around.

To this end, the boys and girls at Crave Entertainment are prepping something of a digital pinball renaissance, which in and of itself might be enough to cause some to scoff and spit and do all the other things old bats do when they don’t like the march of technology taking over. See, taking something that was inherently mechanical and making it digital is probably going to piss a few purists off, but hey, they can just go find the originals.

Pinball Hall of Fame collects 11 classic Gottlieb pinball tables (three of which have never been seen in a PHoF game), and presents them with complementary facts and info about each of the tables. The very same layouts, sights and sounds from Big Shot, Aces High, Black Hole, Victory, Genie and Central Park (among others) will available for PSP owners come November.

"Pinball is such an integral part of American pop culture," informed Mark Burke, Crave’s senior vice president of product planning and business development. "There are so many fans of the classic Gottlieb tables and this compilation offers the convenience of playing them anytime, anywhere."

See? Mark knows alllll about the Lincoln thing, we’re sure of it. Okay, we hope. Fine, we’re history nerds with useless facts. But now you can share it with your friends as you tell them the, uh, good news about your new favorite PSP game.
