Kobe for Two!

...NBA ’07 cover spots, that is. What, did you expect anything less from a three-time NBA champion?

Say what you will about Kobe Bryant, but one thing’s for damn sure: the man’s got drive, baby. Oh, don’t believe us? Ok, sure, no problem... just, uh, let us know the next time get drafted to the NBA at the age of 18, or receiving a starting spot on the Western Conference All-Star team eight times, or score 81 points in a single game. Yeah, we thought so.

As if his accomplishments aren’t monumental enough, the Los Angeles Lakers guard has notched another one to the list: cover athlete and spokesman for NBA '07, coming in both PlayStation 2 and PSP flavors.

"Kobe Bryant has distinguished himself as one of the truly elite players in the NBA and we are thrilled to have him represent NBA '07 as our newest cover athlete," blushed Sharon Shapiro, senior director, promotions and sports product marketing, Sony Computer Entertainment America. "With his explosive game and storied rise to the top of the NBA's ranks, Bryant is a great ambassador for NBA '07 and its unique gameplay-driven story mode 'The Life: Vol. 2.'"

Picking up from last year’s engrossing Life mode, Vol. 2 will throw players right back into the cut, through team politics, press conferences, endorsements and further their relations with the likes of The Kid and Big W (both playable at points in the game). Gameplay enhancements and additions are in spades, with refined game mechanics on the court, smarter AI, a new Open Shot Indicator to better illustrate shot opportunities (or rather, how severely the defense may be marring them), as well as an added Power Boarding System.

Did we mention the over a dozen new mini-games, online capabilities, EyeToy functionality and fresh new soundtrack? Ah, the power of the sports sequel.

NBA ’07 hits the hardwood this fall!
