Midway Spills Beans on '06 PSP Lineup
No real surprises here, just a new Mortal Kombat, another NBA Ballers and a-whaaaa? New RUSH? Well hey now!

The PSPs games drought is starting to slowly come to an end. Sure, most of the stuff that's getting announced these days won't hit until the latter part of the year, but the glimpses at games we got a few weeks ago are finally starting to pay off starting next month and bleeding into the Spring.
Midway seems to have something slotted for every remaining quarter of the year; NBA Ballers: Rebound in the Spring, Mortal Kombat: Unchained in the Fall, and the as-yet-unnamed RUSH closer to the holiday shopping season. All three seem to be based on existing PS2 games (the original NBA Ballers, Mortal Kombat: Deception and L.A. RUSH for those curious).
"In 2006, Midway will begin our strong support of the PSP handheld market by bringing some of our top franchises to the system," claims Steve Allison, Midway's CMO. "All of these titles are perfect for gaming on the go, whether it's a pickāup game of NBA Ballers: Rebound, a quick race in RUSH or a fight to the death in Mortal Kombat: Unchained."
The three games do look as though they'll be more than just ports, though, as they've all taken on extra modes in the porting process. Rebound preserves all the build-a-player/crib aspect, but injects wireless 1-on-1-on-1 matches in addition to the usual two-player, Unchained will add exclusive characters and levels and RUSH tacks on the Stunt Arena, a loop-de-loop- and ramp-assisted way of getting plenty of air to pull tricks.
For tasty screens, hit up the game pages or check back soon - we're bound to be making a big deal as soon as more new media rolls in.
