[TGS06] Metal Slug Anthology Grows By One
Oh c'mon, it wasn't already irresistible enough?

In the world of retro gaming, the compilation is king. For really old-school collections, stuff like Intellivision or Atari allows for a ridiculous number of titles to be crammed into a very small space. But then as most will discover, the rose-tinted glasses of nostalgia usually end up making those games seem like they had more depth or longevity back then (and to be fair, it's not like there was anything else to distract). Cramming dozens of games into a collection is the only way to make a game worth the moolah.
Unless of course you're collecting a series that is a little farther along in the timeline of gaming history. Like, say, right around the time the arcades and home consoles started nipping at each other's heels? And what if you were to collect one of the greatest series to ever come out of SNK's work with the Neo-Geo, offering up six 2D classics in all their arcade-perfect glory? And what if it was decided that a seventh Metal Slug game were added to this Metal Slug Anthology? Yes, we agree, it'd be reason to celebrate.
So throw on that party hat, kids; SNK Playmore will be adding the recently released arcade sequel Metal Slug 6, which joins Metal Slug, Metal Slug 2, Metal Slug 3, Metal Slug 4, Metal Slug 5 and Metal Slug X. A throwback to the storylines of MS 2, 3 and X, MS6 adds Clark Steel and Ralf Jones from Ikari Warriors (!!) as playable characters and has the expanded cast banding together with former enemies the Rebels-Maritan Alliance to combat something even bigger...
The PSP game should arrive in November, action-packed with delicious old-school goodness. And that's what we call a compilation.
