MediEvil Rises to Retail

Sir Dan’s out to prove that he ain’t no coward!

Giving yet another PlayStation classic new life (no pun intended here), Sony Computer Entertainment America today released MediEvil: Resurrection for the PlayStation Portable.

"We are elated to bring a fan favorite and successful selling franchise to PSP," said an excited Susan Nourai, director, online and product marketing, Sony Computer Entertainment America. "MediEvil Resurrection provides a unique new gameplay experience in its first portable installment, leaving gamers in anticipation for more on their PSP."

As told by history, a hundred years back, the nefarious Sorcerer Zarok had his evil plans cut short (there’s that unintentional pun again!) by the heroic Sir Dan Fortesque on his last legs. What a brave soul! What a champion! What a… hoax? Yep, it seems so, as ol’ Danny boy didn’t even make it past the first wave of enemy arrows, but was still unrightfully credited for the defeat of Zarok. The no-good sorcerer has now returned with his undead army to terrorize, and to stop him, Sir Dan has been resurrected to finish the job he… well, never started.

Resurrection takes players across 19 levels of action/adventure goodness, with plenty of fairground style mini-games, variation of a combat/shielding system and knee-slapping cutscenes to go along with it. With the PSP’s wireless capabilities, players can actually challenge their buddies in a race mode via ad-hoc. Who knew the undead were such pros behind the wheel?

MediEvil: Resurrection should be stumbling to stores by the time you’ve read this, so pick up a copy and show your PSP you still care!
