Sony Computer Entertainment of America today announced they have shipped Kingdom of Paradise for the PSP.
The most recent in a short list of PSP role playing games, Kingdom of Paradise separates itself from the rest of the pack by offering an innovative sword-play combat system that allows the player to develop 150 different styles of sword combat to use in combat in the single player game, against a friend in ad-hoc multiplayer, or trade moves with that very same friend in that very same ad-hoc network.
The story follows the young warrior outcast, Shinbu set on a mission to restore peace to the world of Ouka which is under siege. Of course. The story is moist with references to Korean mythos and monsters, with character designs and other art direction helmed by famed Korean animator, Ko Jinho.
Lucky for us, we had some downtime with the Climax team to find out just what went into making Kingdom of Paradise, and lucky for you, we whipped it into a Q&A!
The game seems to have a cinematic style, worthwhile wireless functionality, and a narrative that seems like it has something to accomplish. Hopes for this game are high, no doubt!!
