For Ours is the Kingdom of Paradise
Oh, hey, a new action RPG for the PSP. Excited? Yeah, so are we.

One of the most exciting prospects for the PSP has been the idea of carting around real, honest-to-goodness home console-quality role-playing game. Sadly, we haven't really had an opportunity to sink our teeth into anything yet, but that's changing, and a little surprise good news from Sony today has just sweetened the pot.
Already known in Japan as Tenchi no mon, Sony's American wing wisely picked up the action-heavy RPG, renamed it Kingdom of Paradise and went to work translating and localizing things. Now, just a few months shy of the November release, we finally have the first hits at what the storyline, characters and gameplay is going to look like.
Three centuries ago, the peace and balance among the five martial clans of Ohka was shattered as the Kirin clan suddenly attacked the other four clans in an effort to obtain all the Divine Swords. Their war left only Shinbu, a teenaged warrior and Suirin, a seemingly simple girl, as the only survivors of their clan. Once shunned as outcasts, the pair make it their quest to unseat the Kirin from their throne of power and defend what little remains of their decimated clan.
Okay, so it's not the most original storyline, but the combat-heavy RPG battle system fares far better. Using a system of scrolls, it's possible to mix and match attack styles and the moves and combos that come with them. 150 different attack styles can eventually be learned, and SCEA is promising both one-on-one duels and a downloadable weapon will be available for those with Wi-Fi access.
We'll have more info as soon as we can get it, but for now we have a handful of screens to pour over as we wait for the inevitable trickle of new media to roll in.
