Ask any gamer geek on the street (ok, cooped up in a basement), and they’re sure to tell you: comic-based franchises are official in, baby. Sprawling casts chockfull of household superhero names are hard to miss these days – if it’s not Activision’s stab at a Marvel magnum opus, it’s Warner Bros. Entertainment and their digital realization (with the help of Champions vets Snowblind Studios) of the DC Comics universe.

Justice League Heroes, no doubt, is already making comic faithfuls grin with the inclusion of Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, Zatanna and the Green Arrow (an unlockable character, our sources say), but the game is now treading new, uh, water, with the inclusion of Aquaman.

You heard right, folks! Atlantis’ own undersea hero is making a splash with the Justice League Team, bringing with him a host of trusty superpowers including a whirlpool attack (great for temporarily trapping enemies), the sword of Atlantis and a water shield when on the defense. Hey, with Brainiac and his own gang of minions (Killer Frost and The Key, to name a few) threatening world peace, ol’ Waterboy is going to prove downright crucial to the squad. Justice League, gooooo!

With an original story penned by award-winning comic/animation writer Dwayne McDuffie, a cast of superhero favorites with customizable powers and even two-player co-op, Justice League Heroes just be making some waves of its own when it touches down this fall. New Aquaman screenshot, cliiiiiiiick!
