Gradius Granted
Ohyes ohyes ohyes ohyes, it's here!

Finally! It seems like it's been years since we first got wind of Konami bringing Gradius Collection Stateside, but, well, it's only been about four months since we last had a look at it. Weird how time passes so slowly when you really, really want something, isn't it?
Luckily, we needn't wait any longer. Konami has finally pushed the game to stores, allowing you to digest Gradius, Gradius II, Gradius III, Gradius IV and Gradius Gaiden (a-HA! You thought we were going to say Gradius V, you silly reader you). Gradius Gaiden is actually making its first appearance in North America (yeah, that's right, we give you love too, Canadians).
In addition to five ports of the original games as they appeared in arcades, the PSP's extra juice allows you to turn off the slowdown (if you so prefer), zoom the view to fill the PSP's 16:9 screen, and actually packs a handful of trailers and soundtracks as unlockables for those deft of thumb enough to make it through the games (or part of 'em, anyway).
The whole shebang retails for a measly $30, and given how light the PS2 is on 2D titles, you had better get your butt down to the store pronto to pick up a copy and show our Sony overlords that 2D isn't "old looking" and that it is, in fact, "super mega awesome" (that’s what good games sales automatically translate into with Sony's PSP GameSaleTron 3000.)
Seriously, go buy the game, or you can wait for us to review it in a few days and say the exact same thing but in like 1500 words. The choice is yours, smarty man.
