EA Delivers the 1, 2 Punch to Retail
A headline like that could only allude to one thing: Fight Night Round 3 is out!
Published: February 20, 2006
In celebration of today’s most un-festive of holidays, we deliver this fun fact: if former presidents were to be revived for solely one day out of the year, they would totally duke it out to find out who’s the better man. Either that, or cozy up with a copy of Fight Night Round 3, which finds itself scurrying to retail as we speak, and let vicious digitized haymakers do the talking.
As the third year since the series got a tasteful makeover, Round 3 dances out of its corner with a wealth of knockout features. For one, as ruthlessly one-sided as some fights can be, the inclusion of the all-new Impact Punches can completely shift the momentum with single devastating right (or left -- not to leave out our southpaw pals) hand. And while EA is gloating primarily over the Xbox 360 version of the game, this is said to be the finest looking installment in the series yet, offering an “unparalleled boxing experience” to boot.
Just how will you be dancing like a butterfly and/or stinging like a bee? A Career Mode will take your personalized pugilist through the ranks, while boxing’s best-known rivalries can be relived in ESPN Classic Mode. Thirty years later, we’re certain Frazier is asking for another shot at The Greatest.
So what do you say, slugger? If 12 rounds of scrapping is just what you need to top of this President’s Day, your copy of Fight Night Round 3 (on PlayStation 2 and PSP, mind you) awaits at local retail in exchange for a pair of Jacksons.
