Jak? Jak Who?
Yeah, we reckon it's time for a little ottsel action.

Y'know, quite a bit happened in between the events of The Precursor Legacy and Jak II. After all, Jak was tortured for a couple of years before Daxter freed the poor ico-infused guy, and there's probably a story in that. Luckily for us, the guys and gals over at Ready at Dawn Studios were alllll over filling you in on what happened to the little smart-mouthed orange mascot, and lucky us, the game detailing those adventures is here.
Yes, Daxter finally has his own adventure, freed from the shackles and life-saving aid of that big Jak guy with a game titled (wait for it...) Daxter. Guess there's something to be said for brevity these days. And hey, who doesn't like a good, solid character-driven action platformer -- especially in portable form!
"We are excited that for the first time players will have the opportunity to play a high quality game solely devoted to one of gaming's most memorable characters - Daxter," squealed Grady Hunt, senior producer, product development, Sony Computer Entertainment America. "Since the Jak and Daxter series debuted in 2001, players have been begging for a dedicated Daxter game. We are happy to fulfill this demand with a tremendously engaging and compelling PSP experience."
Engaging? Compelling? Those are Max Casella's middle names ('sokay, IMDB him, you'll get it)! And what could be more compelling that rock/paper/scissors-style two-player Bug Combat missions playable locally over Ad Hoc Wi-Fi? But you can customize the hell out of your bugs before taking on people worldwide! Fine, there's a full single-player game too, y'know, one filled no doubt with tons of clever and adorably macho quips from Daxter himself.
See, Dax had to do something while, uh, biding his time in Haven City as he planned for Jak's escape, and what better way to do it than kill all (okay, some) of the metalhead bugs tooling around the city? That's right, there is no better way, so that's just what the loveable furball did. And it's where you come in. It's all there in our super awesome preview from E3 last year. What, you haven't read that yet? Well what kind of Daxter fan are you, man?
We should have a full review here in a few days, read up on that preview first and check back then.
