Konami Launches a Hudson Two-Fer

Bomberman and a Rengoku sequel are headed to stores as you read this.

Ordinarily, Tuesdays roll around and we weep softly to ourselves as we watch news story after news story trickle in. Most games ship on Tuesday (whereas most game are actually available on Wednesday, and most "this game is available now!!!" press releases go out on Thursday), and that means the Tuesday is the beginning of the tidal wave. It's the base, where all the heaviest pushing and the bulk of the announcements lie, and it means lots of little "this game is out" stories from a handful of publishers.

But here at TotalPlayStation, we're nothing if not a bunch of lazy sods, which means we're constantly on the lookout for ways to shave off as much work as possible so we can start drinking or randomly teabagging Kyle's desk items while he's at lunch or something. Y'know, productive things. And lookee, this, we've got two games hitting from Konami, developed by Hudson. Thanks to our incredibly scientific LazyForm2000, we've decided to mash the two releases into one, thus saving us work!

With no quotes to pad our news story with, and the stupid desire to do more than just write "hey, the game's out, dood," we've decided to use a good two hundred and twenty five-plus words (many of them spelled out extra long-like to make this really sound long to let you know Bomberman and Rengoku 2 have both shipped. One the same day! For PSP!

The former is all about a man who is a bomber and the second is a goku who is a ren. Story over, bust out the sixers! Seriously, though, if you don't know Bomberman, you need to go back to classic gaming school and experience the joy of a multiplayer-friendly swam of little duded on gridded-off mazes laying bombs with huge explosion trails. If you don't know about Rengoku, well, you can be forgiven, the sequel follows the same basic idea of the original in that you're a robot with a bazillion upgradable body parts rising through a series of levels while slashing away at other bad guys and getting all existential. This time, it has better graphics and control, though, Hudson's promising.

Since the guys spent lots of time with it, we'd recommend checking out Hudson's Bee TV, which gives you a nice little run-down of what's been changed/added for both games. We'll have reviews of them soon!
