Enter the Eclipse

NIS America's second Generation of Chaos game has finally arrived.

There are plenty of reasons why we have a big ol' soft spot for NIS America, not the least of which is the fact that they, along with buddies Atlus, are one of the few publishers committed to bringing over quirky, offbeat (and very often surprisingly awesome) games from Japan. Another big reason is that they completely lack any of the pretentiousness or bullshit of bigger video game publishers. When they come right out and admit that the first Generation of Chaos PSP game wasn't exactly hot stuff in the load times department.

In fact, load times were one of many issues with the game, but that NISA is so open with their fanbase makes all warm and cozy, and we hope that never changes. In fact, it'd better not change, guys... Going one better than just copping to a shoddy port on the PSP is working with the original developers Idea Factory, to shave off almost a quarter of the load times from the Japanese sequel. Not seamless, no, but as our recent preview of Aedis Eclipse: Generation of Chaos will attest, it really does make a difference.

So it's with that kind of honesty in mind that we'll happily admit that we don't usually do release stories unless we can pad them with some kind of official quote, but for the boys and girls of NIS America, we'll happily hook 'em up with some luv. Folks, Aedis Eclipse has officially shipped to stores and should be on shelves tomorrow-ish. We'll also have our take on the game tomorrow-ish, so check back then for the full skinny on just how well that PSP optimization went.
