[News and Notes] September 20th
Rapturous Badass Meatball Apocalypse!
Published: September 20, 2009
Yep, time for a roundup of those random bit of news that really aren't all that spectacular on their own. OK, some might argue that the announcement of a release date to the sequel to the winner of over 50 Game-of-the-Year awards is kind of a big deal, but hey, it's just a date, and we already knew about the game...
So yes, Bioshock 2 does indeed have a release date. February 10th, 2010. Did you know Bioshock 1 won over 50 game of the year awards? It did!
Set approximately 10 years after the events of the original BioShock, the halls of Rapture once again echo with sins of the past. Along the Atlantic coastline, a monster has been snatching little girls and bringing them back to the undersea city of Rapture. Players step into the boots of the most iconic denizen of Rapture, the Big Daddy, as they travel through the decrepit and beautiful fallen city, chasing an unseen foe in search of answers and their own survival.
Multiplayer in BioShock 2 will provide a rich prequel experience that expands the origins of the BioShock fiction. Set during the fall of Rapture, players assume the role of a Plasmid test subject for Sinclair Solutions, a premier provider of Plasmids and Tonics in the underwater city of Rapture that was first explored in the original BioShock. Players will need to use all the elements of the BioShock toolset to survive, as the full depth of the BioShock experience is refined and transformed into a unique multiplayer experience that can only be found in Rapture.

PSP and PS3 owners will be THRILLED to find out that Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs has shipped for both systems. I myself am looking forward to the midnight showing, where I will dress up as Meatwad from Aqua Teen Hunger Force and reign supreme.
Players assume the role of Flint, the hero-inventor of the movie, and
immerse themselves in an interactive re-creation of the movie's exciting and
hilarious story. Using Flint's new and exclusive wacky gadgets to defeat
massively mutated food enemies and ultimately to stop the machine that is
causing food to rain from the sky, players will run, climb, dodge, melt,
punch, slice and dice and puzzle-solve their way through more than 20 levels
spread out over 7 different environments taken from the movie; everything
from Ice Cream Falls, to Jelly Castle Land! Play single-player, or team up
with a friend to play as Flint's pet monkey Steve, to drop-in/drop-out at
anytime, in a hilarious co-op mode! Hurl hamburgers with the "Bigacious Pow"
punching glove gadget, sling spaghetti with the "Forkamajigger!", or launch
burritos in the "Outtasighter" vehicle!

Newt week on PSN, the never ending parade of Zombie-themed games continues with the release of Konami's Zombie Apoclaypse.
Equipped with ample artillery, players' dual analog stick shooting skills will be put to the test in the thrilling arcade style shooter. As gamers set forth on their mission to conquer zombies, they can choose from up to 11 diverse weapons including assault rifles, flamethrowers and teddy bears filled with C4 explosives. A chainsaw is also available to players who want an up close and personal encounter with the roaming dead. Savvy players can also take advantage of their surroundings as they utilize environmental hazards to destroy massive hordes of zombies.
Players navigate through seven environments and fight their way through 55 days of zombie attacks without becoming a brainless zombie. Should they succeed, they will be rewarded with seven challenging game modes that will enable them to re-live the apocalypse all over again. As an added bonus, gamers do not have to face the evil masses alone as multiplayer capabilities allow up to four shooters to take on the zombie confrontation locally or co-operatively online.
