Welcome to Shipping Out, our weekly notice of all them thar games that ship from publishers to retailers in preparation for their street date a day later. In many cases, these games won't be on store shelves until tomorrow, but in the interest of getting the word out, letting the PR departments have their fancy quotes and saving us sanity as the weekly releases pile up, we're going to be consolidating everything down into one handy little news story at the end of the day, along with this description. Neat, eh? And lazy!

It's the TPS way.

[X-Men Origins: Wolverine]

Not content with churning out another run of the mill movie licensed game, Raven Software went above and beyond their duties and delivered a Wolverine gorefest. Otherwise known as "That game where you leap off a cliff onto a helicopter just to shred the pilots head in the rotor blades," it seems that Raven are determined to make the game of the disappointing movie provide the thrills and entertainment value that cinema goers were expecting. What does this mean? Well take Heavenly Sword for example, except replace Nariko with our favourite grizzly mutant, add a lot of gore and then slice the framerate in half. That about sums it up, but don't just take my word for it, even Activision knows that they're on to something special.

“X-Men Origins: Wolverine features the most authentic Wolverine experience ever in a video game,” said Rob Kostich, vice president of global brand management, Activision Publishing, Inc. “The game captures the uncaged nature of Wolverine and allows players to uncover an incredible storyline that will appeal to comic book and gaming enthusiasts, as well as fans of the action-packed feature film.”
