Well, we've gotta hand it to SouthPeak Games: they're not letting their latest sub-par hack 'n slash go down without a fight. Perhaps we're being a little unfair towards X-Blades, but we certainly couldn't find much to redeem the game when we reviewed it a while back. A few (okay, more than a few) sub-par reviews of the game aren't going to stop SouthPeak from wooing potential buyers, though.

Starting today (and continuing on until February 7th of 2010, so there's no big rush or anything), if you pick the game up at one of SouthPeak's authorized retailers (read: Wal-Mart, Target, GameStop, that kinda thang), kick over your UPC and proof of payment (yes, we mean a receipt), and they'll shoot back a $5 redemption coupon. Stick with the company even more and pick up a copy of Velvet Assassin (which apparently isn't coming to the PS3 even through we're going to link to our game page for it) or Section 8 (which apparently still is PS3-bound, though we've seen nothing of that version), and you'll get another $5 coupon.

Don't say they never did nuthin' for ya. Well, unless you opt to not buy their games, then they still haven't. Still, the gesture is certainly appreciated, and there are certainly some folks that liked those games, so you don't have to listen to us.
