First things first, let me make something clear. I have not played Transformers : Revenge of the Fallen, nor have I seen the movie. I have, however, played lots of video games and seen lots of movies (I actually ran movie theaters for years and years) and I am pretty sure I wouldn't like either of these. There was a time when blockbuster films could still have some artistic merit (see Gladiator, Shawshank Redemption) but in these days of Michael Bay, we get lots of action but very little substance. I saw Transformers 1 and I played with the original transformer toys so I have some background here. The new movies are nice if you like super-fast cuts, bad dialogue and tons of explosions. I'm all about explosions, but the rest is garbage. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that if push came to shove I'd say the video game is better than the movie, just because in video games I expect bad dialogue and cheesy story and I can ignore it in the name of explosions, especially explosions I get to create.

So given that, I can imagine that there are some of you out there who might be legitimately excited to learn that TF:RotF will be getting some robust DLC later this summer. This new content will feature over TEN (eleven?) new multiplayer characters including fan favorite G1 (Generation 1 I assume) Starscream and movie hero Sideswipe. They can battle it out in three all-new multiplayer maps, and both the Autobot and Decepticon single player campaigns feature new playable characters. For those of you that have dominated the Decepticons or annhiliated the Autobots, there is a new Expert difficulty more, and for you trophy whores there will be some new trophies.

Keep an eye out for additional details as the summer goes on and Transformers goes on to gross more money than it ever had any right to. (I hate you bastards who keep throwing money away on this crap!)
