[Release Date Database]
Smash the control images...
Published: August 15, 2009
Time once again for that roundup of games that have finally told us when we get get our grubby little paws on them. Things could be better (how about a date for Trine?) but at least we got some stuff. right? So without further ado, here's what we know...
Smash Cars August 20th
Hey guess what? You can finally put away your old R/C Pro Am cartridge (or your re-Volt cd) because Tikgames and Creat Studios are bringing their R/C racing game Smash Cars to the PSN in just few days. To win the race, RC vehicles must achieve nitro-fueled rocket boosts for accelerated speed bursts by grabbing big air and pulling off gnarly tricks and jumps. Points are earned by performing the best jumps and aerial tricks, hitting dynamic obstacles, colliding with other cars, skidding and “drifting” along sharp turns, and finishing first. Players can choose from the default Monster Truck style chassis, Buggy or Sports Car configurations, and a visit to the Workshop offers players the opportunity to personalize their vehicle by selecting paint color, glass styles, and decals. Additional body styles are unlocked as players advance.
Sounds like something to keep an eye on. I sure had a blast with R/C Pro Am back in the day, and with online multiplayer, this game could be pretty fun.
Mini Ninjas September 8th
Sometimes games come along that are a total mystery to me. Mini Nijas is just such a game. I never heard anything about it, and despite it being only a month out, I really have very little idea about this upcoming PS3 retail release. Eidos Interactive had this to say though...
Mini Ninjas takes you on a journey to feudal Japan where you join Hiro, Futo, and the rest of the ninja clan on their biggest ninja adventure ever as they embark on an epic and electrifying quest to restore harmony to a world on the brink of chaos.
A quick visit to the Official Site show some pretty sweet gameplay videos though, looking like a mix of Castle Crashers and Splinter Cell. More to come...
Shin Megami Tensai:Persona September 22nd
We've already talked about this game a bit, but in a move that should surprise no one this PSP release will hit both stores AND the PSN simultaneously on September 22nd. Fans of the series might want to trade the convenience of a download for a trip to the game shop, since the retail release will come in special packaging that will include the two disc soundtrack to the game. High School Simulation fans rejoice!
Tony Hawk:RIDE November 17th
What more can you say but $120 plastic skateboard peripheral? Please let me know if you have any questions or need additional info.
That's if for now... everything else is pushed out into 2010 or beyond. Don't stop playing Shatter, because nothing is coming. Well except for Batman, Call of Duty (sorry, Modern Warfare 2), Uncharted 2 and maybe one or two other little things like that.
