So That Last One Was An Almost-Final Prototype?
eastasiasoft preps an expansion for Soldner-X 2: Final Prototype that's finally final.
Published: July 8, 2010
Okay, so apparently despite the title, Soldner-X 2: Final Prototype wasn't the final final outing for the little can-do shmup ship. Either that or, more likely, the German dev house behind the games, SideQuest Studios, has had some success with the PlayStation Network releases of their game and want to keep the money train chugging right along. Clearly Hong Kong-based publisher eastasiasoft is all too happy to continue their (hopefully) profitable little enterprise together.
So what does this mean for you, our faithful reader and PS3 gamer?
Marcus Pukropski, CEO of SideQuest Studios has your answer:
"Söldner-X 2: Final Prototype has been an amazing product that was very well received by gamers and critics alike, which is why we are absolutely committed to showing our continued support for it. All additional content has been exclusively created for this expansion pack; we are continuing right where we left off."
That's right, kids, Final Prototype is getting The Last Chapter. As the good Mr. Pukropski mentioned, this isn't a full-blown sequel, just an expansion, and as such it'll offer a new ending, new tunes for the soundtrack and of course three new stages to blast your way through. The addition of new levels means new Trophies, plus a harder difficulty level for those that didn't find the dynamic challenge present in Final Prototype to be quite up to snuff.
Sadly, that's about all we really know at this point. Soldner-X 2: Final Prototype - The Last Chapter will hit at some point this Fall. As soon as we catch wind of pricing and exact release date, we'll make sure you guys know. Because we love you.
