If we can confirm anything today about the PlayStation Network Store Update, it is that Scott Pilgrim vs. The World is releasing today. This makes a lot of people happy to know they can download this 8-bit-styled brawler, assuming they have a PS3 and some cash. However, if that doesn't apply to you, you are weird!

Those of you that aren't familiar with the game based on Bryan Lee O’Malley's award-winning comic/manga series, or the film based on said book series, you may not know why you should care about this game. In short, a loser guy falls in love with a cute girl (despite being attached to a jailbait-yet-awesome Asian girl) while fighting with aforementioned cute girl's evil ex boyfriends (and one chick... her?).

The game itself is based on the book series, so you won't be seeing Edgar Wright's awesome directing, but you will get a face full of 8-bit goodness by Paul Robertson (and not to be confused with Robert Paulson). Rounding out the retro-styling is the soundtrack, which was written and performed by Anamanaguchi, a popular 8-bit rocker group.

Experience the randomness that is 8-bit Canada (yes, the series is set in Canada) as Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, which will be available today for the price of $9.99. Check back here at TotalPlayStation to read our full review later in the week.
