Hey, not sure if you know about this little series called Guitar Hero, but it's kind of a big deal around here. At least they would have you think so by the amount of goddamn press releases they send about EVERY DAMN DAY. Yeah, you might have heard thet they are releasing Guitar Hero 5 soon, and you might have heard that they have some tracks on there, and you might have heard that some famous people will be in the game. BUT HAVE YOU HEARD THIS? They are now ressurecting CORPSES to be in the game! Yep, the latest news is that dead former rock star Johnny Cash has somehow agreed to lend his image to Activisions latest opus. Fans will be able to use any instrument to pretend they have the ability to play "Ring of Fire". Snort enough coke, and you unlock the Man in Black himself, along with an all new venue, the Prison Cell! Oh no, wait, it is the Electric Honky Tonk Bar venue. In cae you were wondering, this is Cash's video game debut! If only he were alive to see it...

In yet still more Guitar Hero 5 news, maybe the franchise is not the cash cow we once thought. Activision is offering a "super special" deal to "musicians" that purchase a "specially marked" Guitar Hero 5 when it launches this September. That deal? ou get a FREE COPY of Guitar Hero : Van Halen. An ADVANCED COPY! All kidding aside, that really is a great bonus, since the game will cost $60 on release (the Van Halen game), although I myself wouldn't pay 5 bucks for that, but hey, free is free. I do wonder who the have as the lead singer in the game though... someone who actually plays these games let me know when you pick up your copy...

You didn't think Rock Band would let Guitar Hero get away with all the news, did you? Of course not! Today MTV Games and Harmonix announced the upcoming METAL TRACK PACK this October 13th. Retailing for a hefty $29.99, the Metal Track Pack wil feature 20 songs by various face-melting bands (but no Tenacious D) from the entire history of metal. The tracks are:
