Double bass hits the Rock Band franchise.
Published: April 8, 2009
Totally out of the blue EA, MTV Games and Harmonix informed us yesterday that their officially licensed double bass kick pedal is now available at a store near you. Just as boldly as Guitar Hero copied the band concept from Rock Band is the very same now going double bass which this time around Guitar Hero came up with first. But the video game industry is, and always was, a constant give and take business where new inventions are mostly being shared (unlike most other technology centric industries) and we therefore are mostly happy about this announcement.
Well, as only Sam is a really good drummer he will probably be the only one here at the office with enough talent to actually ever use a second pedal. The rest of us will just watch in admiration how he swings those drumsticks making us look like bloody amateurs.
Those of you with similar ambitions can find the Rock Band Kick Pedal with Double Bass Adaptor for $24.99. However, the coolest part is that it’s universally compatible with all Rock Band games and drums on all the platforms (Wii, 360, PS3, PS2!). And if you happen to be using a Rock Band drum-set to create the rhythm in one of the Guitar Hero games, then that’ll work there as well. The double bass works with all “in-game tracks” out there including the freestyle and drum fill sections.
