Mysterious Images Appear On Multiple Major Gaming Sites...
...including TPS. Is this the unveiling of a new game?
Published: August 31, 2010
When we opened up our virtual mailboxes this morning, we were quite surprised to find that an anonymous source had dropped us an email, literally containing no information except for an image attached to the message. We were even more surprised when we opened the photo and found that it contained our site URL, alongside those of such prestigious sites as IGN.com and even the European PlayStation Blog.
Now, we would hardly ever describe ourselves as geniuses, especially when it comes to these clever modern marketing coups like alternate reality games (we'd probably never have figured out that Portal 2 was coming without the help of the incredibly smart people at the Something Awful and Steam forums), but this puzzle actually seems quite solvable. Just in case you want to figure it out yourself, we'll not tell you what we think the solution is (for now, at least). Instead, you go ahead tell us in the comments section below.
But most importantly, what does all of this mean? Does this have anything to do with a title that has already been announced, or is this a campaign for a new game that is going to be unveiled anytime soon? And what would that game be about, and who is making it? We are just as excited as you are.
If you know something we don't, go ahead and enlighten us by dropping us a message at news@TotalPlayStation.com, or by sounding off in the comments section below.
