Today on the PlayStation Blog, Sony announced the details for the fresh-out-of-alpha LittleBigPlanet 2 collector's edition. If there was something that Media Molecule didn't try the first time around, it was a special bundle pack for their original IP. Now that Sony bought Media Molecule and knows how successful the original LittleBigPlanet was, much love is going towards this latest entry.

Let's start off with the regular, plain-jane copies of the game. If you order from Best Buy or Bestbuy.com, you get a Toy Story "Alien" costume. Preordering from Amazon.com get the always awesome "Ratchet" and "Clank". Surrendering your money to GameStop will get you "Clu" from the movie Tron. The final "Gonzo" from The Muppets costume has not been tied to any preorder yet, but we can only hope it does soon.

So, what DO you get when you buy the collector's edition?

- a copy of LittleBigPlanet 2 for the PS3
- a 7" Sackboy Plushie
- Exclusive LBP2 "game-ends" (like bookends, except with the threat that if you ever put books between them, Kevin Butler will hunt you down)
- Exclusive "Jak" & "Daxter" costumes
- 5 exclusive PSN avatars
- 4 animal costumes (crocodile, vulture, cobra, and mandrill)
- Every retailer preorder costume...!

It seems that getting the collector's edition negates the need to order from Amazon to get the best of the best costume packs, as you will get them all no matter what. There is a bunch of exclusive content for this edition, and none of it (thankfully) divides the user audience at all.

You get all of the above for one easy payment of $79.99.

Yeah.

Be sure to pick up your copy of LittleBigPlanet 2 when it comes out November 16th, 2010.
