Activision To Ship Guitar Hero : Bollywood

My god, it's full of sitars!

HA! I made that up! Because we here at TPS are going mad with all the gratuitous music releases plaguing our lives EVERY GOD DAMN DAY! I will wager that someone at Activision will read this article (I can dream) and rush out and make this a reality. And if they do... this here story will be exhibit A in my lawsuit against them. I will take those Activision monies and use them to buy Shacknews so I can personally fire Garnett Lee. The internet will hail me as it's newest king!

The real reason I brought you all here today is to tell you about OTHER music game crap that didn't come in fast enough to get into yesterday's Rock Block, but yet I felt it was too urgent to make you wait another week to hear...

BAND HERO is OUT NOW! You know Band Hero, the game that is just like Guitar Hero except with way suckier music that only teenage girls might like. You might even say Band Hero (begin marketing excerpt) explodes onto the scene with the most exciting and accessible set lists everyone can enjoy at home or on the road, featuring chart-topping tracks from the most popular bands of yesterday and today. With the console versions, up-and-coming pop superstars can create the band of their dreams with any combination of multiple guitarists, bassists, drummers and vocalists or hit all the high notes together in the new karaoke-style Sing-Along mode. Fans can also step into the spotlight as their favorite popular music stars with Taylor Swift and Maroon 5’s Adam Levine making appearances as playable characters.

GUESS WHAT!!! Not only can you step into the spotlight with Taylor Swift because Activision is (begin marketing speak again) giving fans the opportunity to take the stage as pop music sensation and in-game character Taylor Swift and perform acclaimed hits “You Belong With Me,” “Love Story” and “Picture To Burn,” Band Hero™ today announces the launch of a fan sweepstakes that will award one lucky fan a trip for two to meet Swift at an upcoming stop on her 2010 Fearless Tour, including airfare, hotel, transportation, concert tickets and spending money. An additional five entrants will win two tickets to a concert and an in-person meet-and-greet with Swift at the show. Other prizes will be given to lucky fans, including autographed Taylor Swift merchandise and Band Hero t-shirts.

Now, they gave us a link to the contest page, but I'm going to challenge our dear readers to find that link on their own as sort of an additional TPS contest. Also if you are entering the contest, we don't really want you reading TPS anymore. Just saying...

You didn't think that was the ONLY plastic instrument related news we had, did you? HELL NO! LEGO ROCK BAND HAS HIT STORES!

Combining two of the most popular videogame brands, LEGO Rock Band pairs the fun, customization and humor of LEGO videogames with the multiplayer music experience pioneered by Rock Band. Filled with 45 chart-topping songs and classic favorites, LEGO Rock Band allows family members of all ages and skill levels to break loose on the bass, drums, guitar and mic to a soundtrack filled with hit songs from Queen, Foo Fighters, Jackson 5, The All-American Rejects, Jimi Hendrix, Good Charlotte, Tom Petty and more.

Also unique to LEGO Rock Band is the introduction of Rock Power Challenges. Players can harness the power of rock to pull off killer riffs so intense they can demolish a building, thwart an angry octopus or send gamers on other crazy missions. And in the LEGO style of “build-and-play” gaming, players can customize their own experience by creating their minifigure avatars, band and entourage.

Fans can extend their experience with family-friendly downloadable content from the massive Rock Band™ Music Store on their PlayStation 3 consoles that contains more than 350 songs that can be played within LEGO Rock Band. Players can also export songs from LEGO Rock Band to their PlayStation 3 beginning November 12, 2009 to play across other Rock Band games. LEGO Rock Band is compatible with most third party instrument controllers and microphones.

Shit, that stuff about the angry octopus kinda has me interested, I'm not gonna lie! But no LEGO guitar included? Pfffft. RIPOFF!
