Everyone loves Green Day, right? Maybe you are an old man like me and you used to sit around all angry listening to "Longview". Or perhaps you are a teenager and you stroll down the street hearing "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" in you head, and you are sure it's the soundtrack to your life. Regardless of which of those you are, you will likely be a bit disappointed to see the latest Rock Band track pack from Green Day only includes 3 songs from the "punk" rockers newest album, 21st Century Breakdown. What's the thinking behind including none of the classic tracks from Green Day's massive back catalog? Could they be holding out for Rock Band : Green Day? Very unlikely, but it may be that we see Dookie or American Idiot as a full album at some point.

In addition to the Green Day track pack, Harmonix is also releasing a Mayhem Festival Pack. Featuring eight songs from artists that performed at the RockStar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival (does anyone else think that corporate branding has sure made for some awkward event names?) which seems to have replaced (or augmented?) the Vans Warped Tour. RSEDMF is the latest summer touring festival, featuring the best in metal and rock bands playing in a sweaty fairgrounds near you!

Both of these packs will be hitting the Rock Band Store in-game, as well as the PSN next week, with a price of $5.59 for Green Day and $13.49 for the Mayhem Pack, or $1.99 per track. Tracks included in the Green Day pack are "21 Guns", "East Jesus Nowhere", and "Know Your Enemy". The Mayhem pack includes Behemoth's "Conquer All", Black Dahlia Murder's "What a Horrible Night to Have a Curse", Cannibal Corpse's "Hammer Smashed Face", God Forbid's "Empire of the Gun", Job for a Cowboy's "Embedded", Marilyn Manson's "Disposable Teens", Slayer's "Black Magic", and Whitechapel's "This is Exile".
