In anticipation of the release of Resistance 2, Insomniac Games will be partnering with the PlayStation Store in San Francisco's Westfield Metreon Shopping Center in a one night only event. Beginning at 12:01AM (PST) on November 4, the PlayStation Store will begin selling the highly-anticipated title as a standalone, and also will make available a special Resistance 2 Collector's Edition at a discounted price while supplies last. Apparently if you get there early you will have the opportunity to meet some of the Insomniac team, including everybodies favourite dreamy-eyed wonderboy Ted Price. They'll be signing copies of the collector's edition which includes a Chimera Hybrid action figure created by DC Unlimited, a hard cover Resistance 2 art book, an in-game HVAP Wraith multiplayer skin, and a bonus Blu-Ray disk of exclusive Resistance 2 features, in addition to a copy of Resistance 2 with specialized cover artwork. They will also be handing out some free swag which is always good to hear and you'll have the opportunity to get your face on the cover of Resistance 2. The Metreon will be allowing people to start lining up on Monday November 3rd so the event will most likely be rather busy, it might be worth packing some food and perhaps a PSP and something fun to play whilst you're waiting.
For Los Angeles based fans, Insomniac Games will also open their doors to fans in a community day on Friday, November 7 in Burbank, CA. Featuring a panel discussion, competitive multiplayer gameplay sessions with the games' creators, and a studio tour, fans will have access to one of the most respected development studios in the industry. This is a fantastic opportunity for those of you who missed out on a chance to touch Ted Price to mercilessly slaughter him instead.
