In an interview with Eurogamer, DICE boss Karl-Magnus Troedsson discussed the future of Battlefield, specifically Bad Company 3.

Despite hearing fans of the beloved spin-off clamor for a third entry in the series, DICE have been wondering how to move forward. When sitting down with Troedsson put it bluntly "[t]here's one thing that lingers with Bad Company that we've been asking ourselves: what is it that the people really liked about Bad Company?"

Amongst the differences between Bad Company and the Battlefield series as a whole, Bad Company features a lighthearted story that is more comical than overly dramatic in tone. Fans have also noted that due to its console focus, Bad Company is a faster-paced game with smaller maps that pushed players toward each other, rather than having more intricate and expansive environments.

Bad Company originally released in 2008 on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, with its sequel hitting both platforms and PC in 2010. While there are no immediate announcements regarding its future, Troedsson states "It's never dead. You can always revive it, as with any TV series, movie or IP."
