Double Dragon: Neon Coming To PSN
In the Year of the Dragon no less.
Published: April 5, 2012
So you all remember Double Dragon, right? The beat-em-up with Billy Lee and Jimmy was a classic and many still look upon the games with wistful tears.
Well, Majesco and WayForward have heard your cries. You may remember WayForward as the cool guys who rescued the redheaded, vampiric heroine Rayne with BloodRayne: Betrayal last year. Sure, the game was soul-crushingly difficult in parts but it was widely accepted as a success. Now they will look to do the same for Billy Lee and Jimmy with Double Dragon: Neon.
“Double Dragon: Neon is far from a standard retro remake,” said Sean Velasco, Director, WayForward. “It’s WayForward’s love letter to the decade that spawned the franchise - the music, the style, and culture of the 80’s pulse through the nucleus of Double Dragon: Neon. But don’t think this is a simple graphical facelift; with our innovative ‘mix tape’ level up system and power-up high-fives, we pushed it to the limit!”
With drop-in, drop-out online co-op this game is likely to be a hit among PSN fans. Be sure to check out previews of the game from PAX East this week, where a demo will be playable and just for yourself.
As Sam and some of us other staffers said when we found out the news: In WayForward We Trust.
