Back when it was announced that Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch we were quite excited. In fact, we even wrote up an article commemorating the occasion. At the time, we had no idea just when we would get our hands on the game but now we know: this winter. That's right, winter is coming to the PS3 and it's bringing along its friend the white witch.

In case you don't know that much about Ni no Kuni, the tale follows a boy crossing two realities on a quest to find his mother. It is being developed by Level-5 and they have collaborated with Studio Ghibli. Between the two, they have produced some amazing titles in both gaming and anime: Professor Layton, Dragon Quest VIII, Dragon Quest IX, My Neighbour Totoro, Castle in the Sky and Spirited Away. The in-game music comes from the hand of Joe Hisaishi, the composer of the scores to over 100 films including many of Studio Ghibli’s greatest productions.

“The development team at Level-5 has worked very hard to ensure that Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch is a RPG that fans of video games and traditional animation will remember for years to come. It has been a great honor to collaborate with Studio Ghibli and Joe Hisaishi, and to incorporate all of their experience into a fantastic game,” said Akihiro Hino, President and CEO of Level-5. “Our top priority for the Western release of Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch is to localize the game with the same level of quality and attention to detail that fans of Level-5 and Studio Ghibli have come to expect.”

So now all we can do is sit back and wait. It's going to be a long one, but I think we can all make it. Check back for more details in the coming months.
