New Rock Band Tracks from Dream Theatre, Opeth, Trivium, and... Starship?

One of these bands is not like the others.

If you're still playing Rock Band 3 then I don't need to tell you that Harmonix is still supporting the title. In fact, since the Rock Band Store's launch since November 20, 2007, there have been more than 3,000 tracks from 900 artists made available. This has led to over 100 million song downloads and I'm sure it is something that the fine folks in Cambridge, Massachusetts, are very thankful for.

So now we come to next week's newest additions to the library. First up is Dream Theater and a track off of their eleventh album, A Dramatic Turn of Events, which was released earlier this year. "On the Backs of Angels" is nearly nine minutes long and has multiple time changes woven in. You can also grab the Pro Guitar and Bass upgrades for this song but more on that in a few.

Opeth's contribution comes to us from their 2005 album Ghost Reveries. "Ghost of Perdition" was actually on the Saints Row 2 radio station Krunch 106.66 (thanks, Wikipedia!). Now, though, you can play the song on your favorite plastic instruments. The triple pack is closed out by Trivium's "In Waves" from their latest record under the same name. Unfortunately I don't have any sort of Snapple bottle-like trivia for this song. Sorry.

Starship, who is tagging along for this adventure, will have their '80s classic "We Built This City" from their album Knee Deep in the Hoopla. The song reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 back in the day and it's sure to get stuck in your head like it has in mine. There is also a Pro Guitar and Bass upgrade for Jane Addiction's "Jane Says" this week from their album Nothing's Shocking.

Each song will cost you $1.99 but the "Roadrunner Pack 02" (next week's Dream Theater, Opeth, and Trivium) will will cost you $5.49. If you want the Pro Guitar and Bass upgrades for "Jane Says" or "On the Backs of Angels" that'll be an extra $0.99. All of these tunes will be available on November 29 through the PS and Rock Band Stores. It'll be a great way to get up and moving around as you come out of the food comas from tomorrow's feasts.
