Michael Jordan To Grace The Cover Of NBA 2K11
Well that's one way to break the cover jinx...
Published: June 3, 2010
Fresh off his third retirement (five years ago), awkward hall-of-fame induction speech (he made fun of his high school coach), and recent purchase of the Charlotte Bobcats, Michael Jordan is set to receive the ultimate accolades and will be gracing the cover of the upcoming NBA 2K11 from 2K Sports.
Word on the street is that MJ might just be a playable character for the first time in forever in a non-EA game. Rumor has it that many of his teammates and opponents might also be appearing in the game, making us think that we might get some classic teams from the past with actual licensing, instead of SF 33 or that sort of thing.
Michael himself seems thrilled, as you can tell from this quote:
"It's an honor to be featured on the cover of NBA 2K11," said Jordan, current majority owner of the Charlotte Bobcats. "I have no doubt that NBA 2K11 will be a big hit with gamers and basketball fans alike. I'm looking forward to getting back out onto the court, virtually. Let's hope they get my dunk from the foul line right." (Seriously, nothing seems more prepared then when a cover athlete gives a quote about whatever game he or she is adorning)
