I loved Motorstorm: Apocalypse, a lot in fact. Unfortunately it was left to die due to the timing of the PSN outage and its release getting pushed back due to the tragedies in Japan. I did get the platinum trophy for the game because I enjoyed playing it that much, and the online was fantastic (love the betting system). Unfortunately my group of Motorstorm buddies moved on to other games (I'll always resent DiRT 3 for this) and I decided to move on to greener pastures myself.

Now I may have to hop back in.

Thanks to the PS Blog we have some details on this massive update, which you can download the next time you boot up the game and happen to be connected to the PSN. Here's some details of what you can expect:

- A mode editor. You can tweak races just about any way you want. This includes everything from disabling vehicle attacks, mirroring tracks, editing the specific vehicles that will be allowed, infinite boost, no brakes, or even moon gravity. There's other things that can be tweaked but my mind is boggled thinking of racing through some of those tracks with no brakes.

- Sharing customized vehicles. You see that awesome vehicle your friend has but don't want to go through the trouble of making it yourself? Just have them upload it to and download it.

- Racing wheel and PlayStation Move compatibility. Here is a list of supported steering wheels: Logitech G25, Logitech G27, Logitech Driving Force GT and Logitech Driving Force Pro. If you have one laying around from your time with Gran Turismo 5 now seems to be a good time to dig it out. I have no idea what Move brings to the table but I'm excited to find out.

- Improvements to online play. Clan tags are in, bets are won when someone drops/disconnects, and private rooms can only be joined by invitation (this was a big problem I had with the game, nice to see them patch it).

- Updated website and a mobile app so you can keep up with Motorstorm anywhere. This will show stats, activity, and performance levels over the last 10 races and, as I said above, act as a hub for downloading vehicles.

So what are you waiting for? Get to downloading*!

*After the scheduled maintenance, of course.
