Monster Madness PS3-Bound
Now titled Monster Madness: EX, the multi-player shooter is getting multi-player tweaks.

Originally shown off as one of the Aegia PhysX system tech demos, [game=1089]Monster Madness[/i] was never actually announced as a PS3 game, but it certainly wasn't a game that the PS3 hardware couldn't handle. After a release on the 360 to... let's call them "less than stellar" reviews, though, publisher SouthPeak Games is giving the series another go on the PlayStation 3 -- but without some much-needed tweaks to things.
"The Monster Madness series has a lot to offer gamers of all ages, whether they're old school or new school," explained Melanie Mroz, EVP at SouthPeak Games. "The top down camera combined with the co-op and online multiplayer make it the perfect title for the PlayStation 3 system."
"It is exciting for us to expand upon this game and to add new content and gameplay," added Dave Hagewood of new developer Psyonix. "We are broadening the experience of Monster Madness on the PlayStation 3 system to more players than ever before."
Under Psyonix, Monster Madness: EX will hopefully fix some of the major issues that plagued the 360 version's reviews, namely a wonky camera, lackluster co-op play and weird control schemes. Given that the camera and co-op are directly addressed in SouthPeak's press release, we're hoping that they took the criticisms to heart. If so, it could end up with the PS3 getting the best version of the batch, but only time (and perhaps a little hands-on play with the final version) will see if those things can be remedied. If we find out, we'll letcha know.
