Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns Of The Patriots is called "GAME OF THE YEAR 2008" by numerous gaming sites.

Visionary creator Hideo Kojima once again made his publishing firm Konami Digital Entertainment proud with last year's release of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. The game received a phenomenal Metacritic score of 94. Our very own Sam Bishop gave the game ("game" is probably an understatement...) an almost flawless 9.5, effectively making it one of the highest rated titles of the year.
But we were not alone with our praise towards Kojima's ultimate fan service in the form of a masterpiece, and arguably one of the best titles ever made. Therefore not totally unforeseen - the seventh installment in the legendary Metal Gear series (including MGS: Portable Ops - though not counting other PSP, PC, Game Boy, GameCube and Xbox spin offs) received numerous Game Of The Year awards.
